Furniture Restoration

Furniture restoration is the art of restoring furniture to either look newer, to provide functionality or to preserve in order to avoid further deterioration. The main focus is on the conservation and restoration of wooden furniture in Maine and New England. The two general areas in which we specialize in are: structure and refinish. Furniture has been around for most of human existence, furniture restoration came to light in the late 19th century as a means to preserve historical and culturally valuable furniture and now it’s become a dying art with only a few restorers left in New England. Maine Steamer Trunk Company has been in the furniture industry for around 30+ years, starting on movie sets and now restoring furniture for the people of greater New England and beyond.
