Re-Gluing

We see re-gluing as one of the most important parts to a sound restoration service. If done wrong, poor re-gluing can lead to the destruction of a piece. While you can always re-finish a piece and replace old parts, the glue is what holds the piece together and many antique furniture never gets re-glued resulting in the piece losing its functionality. Only a small percentage of restorers reglue furniture, we are one of those brave people. Rather than inserting nails, screws and attaching fasteners which may split the wood, we use the delicate but dissimulation re-gluing strategy to put as little stress on the joints as possible.
